Project Update - May 2026
111 Street near Blackmud Creek
- Throughout 2026, residents will experience significant construction-related impacts, particularly along 111 Street near the Blackmud Creek Bridge.
- 111 Street will remain one lane in each direction until fall 2026. This will allow Ledcor to complete critical work in the area.
12 Avenue west closure
Starting on/around May 24, Ledcor will fully close 12 Avenue west of 111 Street. This closure is necessary for critical removals, drainage, ductbank and utility work, roadwork and trackwork. This closure is expected to last approximately 10 weeks. Emergency access will be available at all times at the closed intersection, even during active excavation. Crews will work extended hours and overnight when necessary to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.
During the 12 Avenue west closure, motorists will be detoured to 9 Avenue.
- Four traffic lanes will be open at 9 Avenue west
- Two eastbound to northbound left-turn lanes out of Twin Brooks
- One eastbound through/right-turn lane (southbound) out of Twin Brooks
- The “no-right-on-red” turn movement (southbound) will be temporarily removed to support better traffic flow.
- One westbound through lane into Twin Brooks to support traffic flow and reliable access for emergency vehicles.
