Fire station tours occur throughout the year providing an opportunity to connect with citizens and educate them about fire safety concerns, services and equipment.
Small groups and families of up to 7 people can visit a station at any of the times below for a tour, and no formal booking is required. Groups of 8 or more will require a formal booking using the Application Form.
Tours are held Monday to Friday during the following time slots:
- 10-11:30am
- 1:30-3:30pm
- 7-8:30pm
Station tours typically take between 30-45 minutes.
Note: Fire stations are in service and may be called to an emergency during your tour. If a tour is cancelled because the station must respond to an emergency, your tour will be rescheduled.
Tour Requirements and Bookings
A maximum of 30 people, including supervisors, are allowed per tour:
- For school-aged children, there must be 1 supervisor for every 5 children.
- For kindergarten children, there must be 1 supervisor for every 3 children. Before kindergarten children are taken on a tour, 2 programs are recommended:
- Play Safe! Be Safe! kit - available at Edmonton Public Library
- Learn Not to Burn - available at most school libraries
If your group must cancel or reschedule, please provide notice at least 24 hours in advance.
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services proudly offers ride-along experiences to adults who are interested in a career in firefighting. Please complete the request form if you are at least 18 years of age.
By filling out this application, you will be applying to spend the day with one of our crews.
As of March 10, 2025, ride-along applicants with EFRS are required to submit a minimum volunteer-level Police Background Check that was conducted within the past one (1) year. If you do not have a current background check certificate or documentation, please sign up and request a "Volunteer" background check from the Edmonton Police Service Police Information Checks website. There will be a one-time $15 fee for this service.
With a Rig Appearance, you can have an Edmonton Fire Rescue Services apparatus (based on equipment needs at the time of the scheduling) appear at your public event.
A full fire vehicle and crew will be present to interact with members of the public and answer questions about the trucks and equipment, as well as the work of firefighters and the wider fire department. Please note that Rig Appearances are not intended to be instructional fire safety events.
By filling out this application form, you will be submitting a Rig Appearance request for your public event.
Please note that Rig Appearances carry a maximum commitment of 2 hours. We cannot guarantee that a truck will be able to attend the full duration of the events that apply.
