Changes are coming to the corner store in the Parkallen neighbourhood.
The Corner Store Program builds streetscape improvements around neighbourhood commercial areas that enhance community connection and economic viability of local businesses.
Project Update - April 2026
The Project Team has been working closely with Parkallen Corner Store business and property owners to work toward the final design. The team presented design options to the owners in September 2025 and feedback from that engagement helped refine the design.
An updated concept design was then shared with the owners and the Community League in February 2026. The Project Team is using that feedback, City policies and technical requirements to refine the final design.
The final design is expected to be shared publicly in June 2026.
How to Get Involved
A series of opportunities for you to provide input and feedback are being planned. Your input will be used to help us understand operational needs and will help guide improvements around accessibility, safety and aesthetics. Public engagement opportunities will be advertised in your neighbourhood and around the Parkallen business complex along 111 Street.
Project decisions are guided by City policies and guidelines and technical requirements, but public feedback is considered, where possible. There will be several stages of public engagement.
Project History
Thank you to everyone who engaged with the project team during the Exploring Opportunities stage for the Parkallen Corner Store. The online survey closed on April 22. The feedback gathered will be used to develop the initial design.
An engagement summary showing public engagement efforts is now ready. A What We Heard Report summarizing your feedback is now available.
