Outdoor Pools Opening Soon!

Outdoor pools are scheduled to open on the following dates, weather and air quality permitting:

Mill Creek: May 23
Queen Elizabeth: May 30
Fred Broadstock: June 6
Borden Natural Swimming Pool: June 20

Soak up the summer at the Queen Elizabeth outdoor pool. Make a day of it and enjoy the surrounding attractions in Kinsmen Park - Kinsmen Sports Centre, Kinsmen Spray Park, Kinsmen Pitch & Putt, children's playground, sports fields, picnic sites, river valley trails, and the John Walter Museum.

Admission and Memberships

Outdoor Pools are Value type admission except for Aquafit classes and Swim Training, which are Benefit Plus programs.

Admission to these pools is included with all City of Edmonton Recreation Centre memberships, including the Summer Child & Youth Pass.

Pool Status and Closures

Closures of outdoor pools are determined by temperature (below 18 °C), air quality (monitored by 4 stations across the City), extreme weather (stormy, heavy rain, lightning or thunder), and bookings.

Outdoor pool status is updated daily at 10am and 1pm.

6-lane, 25-metre pool with a zero depth entry

1-metre and 3-metre diving boards

Universal access change room similar to a family change room with private individual and family/disabled change cubicles

Concession on site
- Customers may bring in unopened, factory-sealed beverages only. Opened or unsealed beverages are not allowed in to the facility and customers will be asked to dump out any unsealed beverages. Exceptions can be made for customers who are feeding infants onsite, or for customers with medical needs.
- Water coolers are available to fill water bottles.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
- Customers may bring in their own food.
