City Centre Redevelopment Conceptual Designs on Display at Terwillegar Recreation Centre
February 28, 2011
Edmontonians have one last chance to view and provide observations on the conceptual designs from five international teams short listed to provide the master plan for the City Centre Redevelopment project.
A public information session will be held:
Date: Tuesday, March 1, 2011
Time: 5 - 9pm
Location: Terwillegar Recreation Centre – Multipurpose Room 6
2051 Leger Road
Display boards and a 5-minute video will be presented at the session.
These conceptual designs are one of the components the Selection Committee will consider in recommending to City Council the best team to work on the City Centre Redevelopment project. The Selection Committee will also consider the public’s comments in making its recommendation to City Council.
Each team’s display consists of eight poster boards (30 inches by 40 inches) that include site drawings, sketches and renderings, and a five-minute video illustrating that team’s unique vision for the lands according to the seven Master Planning Principles. The seven principles, endorsed by City Council in 2010, include: planning & design, ecological footprint, infrastructure, family housing, green space amenities, technology and history.
The teams’ submissions will be on display at City Hall in the City Room until February 28 at 9pm. You can also view them online until midnight on March 1.
