Confederation Arena Reopening Delayed

The reopening of Confederation Arena, following a scheduled shutdown for upgrades, has been delayed.

The arena, located at 11204-43 Ave., was scheduled to open Oct. 11 after a maintenance shutdown and an ice plant replacement. However, it will remain closed to assess damage to the cooling system that occurred while work was being done. It may take up to six months to complete the additional repairs to the arena.

The City is working closely with groups that have booked the arena to find ice time at other City-owned or private facilities.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience this will cause user groups who have booked time to use the rink or individuals who make use of the facility. A list of other arenas is available online at Edmonton arenas.
