As part of the 2024 Fall Supplemental Operating Budget Adjustment and based on budget decisions approved by Council, the Front Yards in Bloom and the Edmonton In Bloom Awards have been discontinued as of 2025.
All City departments and branches were asked to find efficiencies to support Council’s goal to balance tax increases and prioritized work according to what is considered core services - work that is essential to keeping Edmonton’s open spaces and mobility network accessible and safe for Edmontonians.
Thank you for 25 years!
These programs have been valuable to our community and we want to acknowledge the positive impact they have made to the lives of many Edmontonians.
The Front Yards in Bloom program was a success due to the dedication and support from its volunteers over the years, as well as dedicated gardeners throughout the city. We thank you all for strengthening Edmonton’s community spirit and beautifying our neighbourhoods.
We recognize the dedication and hard work of our partners, especially the Edmonton Horticulture Society and Canadian Union of Postal Workers, who have contributed to the success of Front Yards in Bloom over the past 25 years. We sincerely thank you for your commitment.
We know this news is disappointing, and we appreciate your understanding as we prioritize core city services.
The Edmonton Horticulture Society is now running the Our Neighbourhood In Bloom Initiative, looking to carry the torch of Front Yards in Bloom.
