It’s the fourth year of Collector Renewal on 132 Avenue, and we are scheduled to start to start the week of April 20, weather permitting. Work will consist of reconstruction and paving of the roads, removal and replacement of public sidewalk, curb, gutter and street lighting.
This year, the majority of construction will take place from 121 Street to 127 Street. Please view this scope map to see the 2026 construction area. Work will also happen in the commercial area along 124 Street.
For those who live in the 2026 construction area (specifically from 121 Street to 127 Street), the remaining landscaping work is scheduled to start at the same time as this year’s construction. Landscaping work is highly dependent on weather and sod availability.
The City of Edmonton and EPCOR are working together to construct Low Impact Development, which will help with stormwater retention and help mitigate flooding.
Please watch your mailbox for construction bulletins that will provide more information along with details on landscaping and access. All residents and business owners are asked to access their homes and businesses through the back entrances and alleys, where possible, during construction. It’s the third year of 132 Avenue Renewal East, and we are scheduled to start the week of April 20, weather permitting. Work will consist of reconstruction and paving of the roads, removal and replacement of public sidewalk, curb, gutter and street lighting.
This year, the majority of construction will take place from Delwood Road to 90 Street. Please view this scope map to see the 2026 construction area. Work will also happen in the commercial areas along 82 Street.
2026 construction is taking place in front of St. Matthew, St. Cecilia and Archbishop O’Leary schools. Two-way traffic with one lane in each direction will be maintained until the end of June. At the end of June, 132 Avenue will be temporarily, fully closed from 90 Street to just west of 82 Street.
During construction, staff, students and parents/guardians will still be able to access these schools via 132 Avenue. More information, including accessible pick-up/drop-off zones, is available in the bulletins:

2024 construction began in May and was finished the third week of October. The 2024 construction season was a success and we completed all planned construction including the reconstruction of roads, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, Low Impact Development installation, bike lanes, signals and new street lights in the following areas:
There are some naturalized turf areas along the boulevard that were not completed from 107 Street to 113A Street. The outstanding work will resume once the weather warms up in early May. The landscape subcontractor will be completing the topsoil and sod placement. By waiting until spring, the sod is more likely to establish.
Year 3 of construction along 132 Avenue West will resume in the first week of May 2025, weather permitting. The planned scope for 2025 will include 113A Street to 122 Street. Prior to work resuming, construction notifications will be delivered to impacted residences.

132 Avenue East Collector Renewal construction has wrapped up for the 2024 construction season!
2024 construction began in June and was finished the last week of October. The 2024 construction season was a success and we completed all planned construction including the reconstruction of roads, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, bike lanes, shared-use pathways, continuous crossings, landscaping, corner store business upgrades and new street lights along 132 Avenue between Fort Road and 66 street.
There are some landscape elements such as shrubs, perennials and naturalized turf that were not completed in 2024. The outstanding work will be completed when construction resumes in 2025. Parts of the 2024 construction area may also require sod. Once the weather warms up, typically in early May, the landscape subcontractor will be completing the topsoil and sod placement. By waiting until spring, the sod is more likely to establish.
132 Ave East Renewal work will resume between 66 Street to 82 Street in the second week of April 2025, weather permitting. Prior to work resuming, construction notifications will be delivered to impacted residences.

It’s the second year of 132 Ave Renewal West construction. Work will consist of reconstruction and paving of the roads, removal and replacement of public sidewalk, curbs, gutters and street lighting.
This year, the majority of construction will take place from 97 Street to 101 Street and from 107 Street to 113A Street. Please view this scope map to see the 2024 construction area.
The work from 107 Street and 113 A Street has been completed, with the exception of sod and some tree plantings. The section between 112 Street and 113 A Street is now open.
The full road closures remain in effect for 107 Street to 112 Street.

It’s the first year of the 132 Avenue Renewal East project. Work will consist of reconstruction and paving of the roads, removal and replacement of public sidewalks, curbs, gutters and street lighting.
This year, the majority of construction will take place from Fort Road to west of 68 Street. Please view this scope map to see the 2024 construction area. Work will also occur in the commercial business areas along 66 Street.
Paving of the bike lanes has begun. The sidewalk, ramps, curb and gutter concrete pours will be ongoing, as required. Scopes of work on 66 Street are scheduled to be completed before the end of October. New traffic signals are now operational on 66 Street.
A full road closure is still in effect between Fort Road and 66 Street, with lane closures on 66 Street, as necessary.
Construction on 132 Avenue Renewal East began in 2024 and is expected to take 4 years (planned completion October 2027). 132 Avenue Renewal East is continuing on time and on budget.
Neighbourhood Renewal construction in 132 Avenue Neighbourhood has wrapped up for the 2023 construction season!

Collector renewal work will resume on 132 Ave between 101 Street and 97 Street and between 107 Street and 113 A Street in the second week of April 2024, weather permitting. The planned scope for 2024 will include the reconstruction of roads, new sidewalks, curbs and gutters, LIDs, new bike lanes and new streetlights. Prior to work resuming, construction notifications will be delivered to impacted residences.

If you live in the construction area, you will receive an additional construction notice that provides more information on what to expect during construction prior to work beginning.
The City is expecting an increase in traffic volume and, as a result, an increased risk of speeding along roads connected to 132 Avenue as a result of construction.
To proactively maintain street safety, the City will be installing adaptable curb extensions along these routes in an effort to slow vehicles, shorten crossing distances and increase pedestrian visibility by preventing parking next to crossings.
