Transit offers youth and student riders independence, as well as a low-cost and environmentally-friendly way to get to school, work, after-school activities—and to wherever their friends are.

Youth fare products are available to those 18 years of age and under.

Arc Card with Subsidized Youth Pass

Students at Edmonton Public and Edmonton Catholic schools can ride transit for less using their Arc card. Here’s how:

Purchase a reloadable Arc card through your school office. Your school office can confirm the cost of the pass.
Your school office will help you load the subsidized youth pass onto your Arc card and provide information on how to pay your monthly fare through SchoolZone.

Lost your Arc card? Replacement cards for the subsidized youth pass must be purchased through the school office in order for students to receive the student subsidy fare.

Yellow Bus Pass Holders

ETS also permits limited Yellow School Bus Pass use on our system. Each yellow bus pass holder is allowed 6 trips per pass per month on regular transit service, for travel before 8pm. Present your pass to the operator when you board the bus.

Youth Fare Caps

Discounted Arc monthly fare caps are available for youth and students who are not enrolled in a transit program through their school or institution. Visit myArc.ca to add your discounted fare cap to your Arc card. Remember to remove your discounted youth fare cap when you reach age 19.

Getting to School...and Beyond

Many schools around the city are served by regular ETS bus routes. ETS operates School Special bus routes on school days to supplement regular bus routes. Visit School Special Bus Routes to find out if your school is served by an additional school route.

ETS does not provide School Special bus routes to every school and students may need to make transfers to get to their school.

It’s easy to plan your trip. Just use the ETS trip planner, or Google Maps’ “public transport” option.
