Waste Services’ Container Sharing Program allows adjacent multi-unit properties receiving communal collection of garbage, recycling and food scraps to share containers. This program will address space concerns by reducing the number of containers needed per property and is offered at the same utility rate already paid at each of the sharing sites.

Container size and collection frequency will need to be determined by the total number of units between the 2 sites when calculating the weekly allocations.

Site decision makers, such as an owner, property manager or a condo board member, can apply using the form below. If your application meets the requirements outlined, a Municipal Waste Inspector will review your application to verify the properties satisfy the requirements.

The final location of the containers will be at the discretion of the City of Edmonton and cannot be moved from the designated location except with the approval from City of Edmonton Waste Services.
