Project Overview
The Lewis Farms Facility and Park Project, located at 22103 92 Avenue NW, is proceeding with a build-to-budget approach. The project team has adjusted the project scope to focus on community programming needs.
The facility has been designed to accommodate the following amenities:
Aquatic facility with a 50-metre pool
Twin arena
Multi-purpose and studio spaces
Fitness centre
Double gymnasium
Medium-sized Edmonton Public Library branch
A base-level district park will be included with supporting infrastructure that allows for development of additional park amenities in the future. A parks maintenance yard will be included in the district park.
Public and interested party feedback was gathered on the concept and design, and showed support for the multi-purpose facility and park. Extensive public engagement was completed from 2015 to 2018. The data collected during engagement continues to guide adaptations in the facility design. A summary of the public and interested party engagement is in the What We Heard report.
On May 1, 2026, the City of Edmonton announced mistahaya wîkihk (pronounced mist-ah-hi-ya wee-gik) Community Recreation Centre as the official name of this facility. This Cree name translates to "The Big One's at his home/Grizzly Bear's Home."
