Transit Service Changes

Five times each year ETS adjusts service based on transit rider feedback and seasonal changes in ridership, such as the Edmonton school cycle. Starting April 26, various bus routes will have service changes to reflect typical spring ridership patterns.

Route Schedule and Frequency Changes

New route brochures will be available on April 26. Riders can plan their trips early by selecting a date after April 26 on the ETS Trip Planner and Google Maps.

Service Adjustments

ETS will reassign bus bays at two transit centres to help reduce congestion and improve operational efficiency:
- Mill Woods Transit Centre
  - Route 56 (West Edmonton Mall) will be moved to Bay G (#3907)
  - Route 513 (Knottwood) will be moved to Bay A (#3901)
  - Route 514 (Millhurst) will be moved to Bay K (#3911)
  - Route 516 (Meadows) will be moved to Bay N (#3914)
- Meadows Transit Centre
  - Route 500X (Downtown) will be moved to Bay M (#3713) northbound on the east side of 17 Street
- Belvedere Transit Centre
  - Route 106 (Dunvegan) will be moved to Bay I (#7209)
  - Route 2 (Clareview) will be moved to Bay J (#7212)

ETS will also be rerouting a number of routes throughout the city to help improve arrival times:

Route 500X (Meadows) will see a routing change downtown. Instead of turning right on 103 Avenue, it will now turn left, travelling eastbound, and then south on 100 Street.Riders will no longer be able to catch this bus at the following stops:
- #11382 - 106 Street and 103 Avenue westbound
- #11095 - 109 Street and 103 Avenue northbound
- #1824 - 108 Street and 104 Avenue eastbound
- #1679 - 105 Street and 104 Avenue eastbound
- #1915 - 103 Street and 104 Avenue eastbound
- #1570 - 103A Avenue and 101 Street eastbound
- #1608 - 100 Street and 103 Avenue southbound
Route 513 (Mill Woods) will now travel clockwise around Mill Woods Town Centre instead of counterclockwise. Instead of turning right on 66 Street, it will continue east on 28 Avenue and turn right into Mill Woods Transit Centre from Hewes Way. Riders will no longer be able to catch this bus at the following stop:
- #3122 - Hewes Way and 27 Avenue northbound
Route 516 (Mill Woods) will also now go clockwise around Mill Woods Town Centre instead of counterclockwise. Instead of turning right onto Hewes Way, it will continue west on 23 Avenue, turn right on 66 Street and enter Mill Woods Transit Centre. Riders will no longer be able to catch this bus at the following stops:
- #3090 - 58 Street and 23 Avenue eastbound
- #3092 - 66 Street and 23 Avenue eastbound
On March 29, Route 922 was rerouted to now run clockwise through Rosenthal and Rosenthal Drive and 92 Avenue. This change will allow ETS to serve more of the Rosenthal neighbourhood.

ETS will reallocate service from routes with low ridership to reduce crowding and delays on the busier routes.

First trips will be cancelled on the following routes:
- 113 (Sunday), 701 (Weekday), 909 (Weekday), 914 (Weekday)
Last trips will be cancelled on the following routes:
- 113 (Sunday), 707 (Saturday), 708 (Saturday), 715 (Weekday), 721 (Weekday), 902 (Weekday), 903 (Weekday), 913 (Weekday), 914 (Weekday and Saturday), 918 (Saturday)

On Demand Transit

Starting April 26, additional On Demand Transit stops will be added to the following neighbourhoods:

Riverdale (to facilitate transfers from Riverdale to/from Routes 1A/B)
- #1173 - 89 Street and Rowland Road eastbound
- #1356 - 90 Street and Rowland Road westbound
Ottewell (to facilitate transfers from Avonmore, Kenilworth and King Edward Park to/from Route 4)
- #22073 - 68 Street and 90 Avenue eastbound
- #2376 - Ottewell Road and 90 Avenue westbound

LRT service changes

LRT frequency will maintain current service levels on all three lines. Information on LRT frequency can be found on our LRT Stops and Stations page.

Holiday Service Changes

May 18 (Victoria Day)	All bus routes operate using Sunday schedules.
May 27 - 29	Public and Catholic school service will be cancelled

Construction and Detours

The 132 Avenue Renewal Project continues in 2026. This year, the majority of construction will take place in 2 separate construction areas: from 121 Street to just west of 127 Street (west segment) and from 90 Street and Delwood Road (east segment).

Construction on the west side of 132 Avenue is scheduled to begin the week of April 20 and will run until fall 2026. Routes 51, 103, 106 and 618 will be on detour.
Construction on the east side of 132 Avenue will begin the week of April 20 and run until fall 2026. Routes 106, 610, 612, 613, 614, 624, 625 and 626 will be on detour during this time.

As part of the Dunluce Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal Project, crews will be in the area rehabilitating residential roads, replacing street lights, sidewalks and more. The main corridor of 127 Street and Castle Downs Road will be closed for construction from mid-April to fall 2026.

During this time, Route 124 will be on detour and will now run along 162 Avenue.

The eastern and southern parts of Glenwood will also be undergoing neighbourhood renewal.

While work is underway, Routes 7 and 915 will remain on 95 Avenue while Route 924 is detoured onto 163 Street.
Routes 671 and 676 will detour onto 170 Street, turn right on 100 Avenue and then turn right again onto 163 Street.
Route 678 will detour onto 100 Avenue NW and then turn right on 163 Street.

Overlanders will be entering year two of their neighbourhood renewal.

While work is underway, Route 108 will be detoured to Hermitage Road/Victoria Trail.
Summer Streets program
Route 701 will detour to Gateway Boulevard northbound the week of May 17 until Fall 2026

Imagine Jasper Avenue (Year 2) - Full reconstruction of Jasper Avenue will take place between 121 Street and 117 Street.

Riders will see bus stop closures while this work is being done. Temporary stops will be provided where practical and safe.
