Construction Update - September 2026

It’s the second year of Dunluce Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal and construction is underway. Work consists of reconstruction and paving of the roads and alleys, removal and replacement of public sidewalk, curb, gutter, street lighting and landscaping. 

Front Streets Construction

Please view this scope map to see the 2026 construction area for front streets and alley construction.

The laydown area for the front streets contractor is east of the Dunluce Community Playground. Please also be advised that other contractors will be in the project area adjusting utilities in various locations.

All schedules are subject to change. This web page will be updated throughout construction. 

Crews have completed work in the following locations, except for select tie-ins and breezeways:

  • Sidewalk improvements: 158 Avenue loop, 159 Avenue loop, 157 Avenue collector road, 161 Avenue culs-de-sac, and the 123A Street loop
  • Road reconstruction: 159 Avenue loop

Crews are currently working in these locations:

  • Road reconstruction: 157 Avenue collector road, 158 Avenue loop, 123A Street loop, and 161 Avenue culs-de-sac
  • Sidewalk improvements: 121 Street from 153 Avenue to 161 Avenue
  • Landscaping: Orval Allen Park

The following are tentatively scheduled to start in September:

  • Road reconstruction: 121 Street collector road
  • Underground and sidewalk improvements: 127 Street from 153 Avenue to 158 Avenue
  • Landscaping: 158 Avenue loop, 159 Avenue loop, 161 Avenue culs-de-sac, and 123A Street

Alley Construction

The 2026 scope of work for Dunluce alleys is now complete.

Prepare for Construction

The City of Edmonton and EPCOR are working together to construct Low Impact Development (LID), which will help with stormwater retention and help mitigate flooding.

Please watch your mailbox for construction bulletins that will provide more information along with details on landscaping and access. All residents and business owners are asked to access their homes and businesses through the back entrances and alleys, where possible, during construction. 

If no alley access is available and/or you have special access requirements (such as DATS or a temporary access ramp to the front of your home), please contact the Construction Project Manager, Stephen Au, at 780-496-4055 or 311, to coordinate.

Construction in Dunluce is expected to take 5 years (planned completion fall 2029).
