We will save lives and eliminate serious injuries through creating safer, more livable streets for everyone.
We are committed to our Vision Zero goal of eliminating fatalities and serious injuries on our streets by 2032. The Road Safety Strategy 2016-2020 was our guide for the past five years, and its data driven approach has contributed to the ongoing reduction in fatalities and serious injuries on our roads.
The Safe Mobility Strategy 2021-2025 builds on this success and guides the City for the next five years with an increased focus on equity. This means prioritizing our work to make Edmonton’s streets safe for everyone, regardless of where they live or how they move around our city.
We work with community groups, traffic safety experts, planners, engineers, academics, and Edmontonians to come up with solutions that keep everyone safe. We take into consideration data and research, as well as Edmontonians’ lived experiences.
