Councillors are required to make certain annual and quarterly disclosures to uphold the City of Edmonton's commitment to openness, transparency and accountability.
The Council Disclosure Bylaw (Bylaw 20901) was passed September 10, 2024. It continues the City’s practice of sharing information about Councillors’ financial arrangements, and now specifies that it will be published on the City’s website.
The bylaw came into effect January 1, 2025, for records from 2024 onward. Records for the year are published in the following year.

The Council Code of Conduct (Bylaw 18483) requires that elected officials provide the City Clerk with a quarterly disclosure statement which identifies the receipt of any gift or benefit with a fair market value over $300 that is connected to the performance of the Councillor's duties of office.
The Code of Conduct came into effect on June 26, 2018. Prior to that, gifts and honoraria were disclosed according to requirements of City Policy C563.
