Beverly Heights has been chosen for Alley Renewal. Construction started spring 2024, with anticipated completion in 2026.

Construction Update - March 2025

It’s the second year of Beverly Heights Alley Renewal and we are scheduled to start in mid-April 2025, weather permitting. Work will consist of removing the existing road structure, placing a new gravel base, conducting minor concrete replacement and installing new asphalt pavement.

Please view this scope map to see the 2025 construction area.

For those who live in the 2024 construction areas, the outstanding road deficiency work is scheduled to start at the same time as this year’s construction.

If you live in the 2025 construction area, please watch your mailbox for construction bulletins that will provide more information along with details on landscaping and alley access. For special concerns or access requirements, such as Dedicated Access Transit Service (DATS), please contact the Construction Project Manager, Clinton Mah, 780-496-4055.

Alley Renewal in Beverly Heights is progressing on time and on budget.

Garbage and Recycle Collection

While your alley is closed for construction, waste cart collection will occur from your front street or avenue. Residents are asked to temporarily relocate carts and recycle bags to the front of your property during alley closures for pick-up on collection days. Carts and bags should be placed in a visible location along the curb or back of the sidewalk, at which point collection workers will manoeuver carts so they can be emptied.

We recommend you identify your home address in the space provided on the carts to ensure your assigned carts are returned to your home after collection.

Alley Renewal: Overview

About the Project

Alley Renewal involves alley reconstruction and repaving, improvements to surface drainage where possible, and upgrading of existing alley lighting to LED fixtures. It also includes the opportunity for a local improvement to add alley lighting if property owners are interested. Utility assessments and repairs, along with removals and pruning of trees and shrubs, are also completed.

Construction began in spring 2024 and is anticipated to be complete in fall 2026.
