Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal construction is coming to Meyokumin in spring 2024!

Construction Update - May 2024

It’s the first year of Meyokumin Neighbourhood and Alley Renewal and we are scheduled to start May 27, 2024! Work will consist of reconstruction and paving of the roads, alleys and removal and replacement of public sidewalks, curbs, gutters and street lighting.

This year, the majority of construction will take place in the alleys only. Please view this scope map to see the 2024 construction area. Work will also happen in the parks and open spaces in the neighbourhood.

During alley closures, cart collection will need to occur from your front street or avenue. Residents are asked to temporarily relocate carts and recycle bags to the front of your property during alley closures for pick up on collection days. Carts and bags should be placed in a visible location along the curb or sidewalk, at which point collection workers will maneuver carts so they can be emptied. It is recommended that residents identify their home address in the space provided on the carts to ensure your assigned carts are returned to your home after collection.
