Collaboration with national and international groups provides opportunities to learn from others and to showcase Edmonton’s asset management practices.

Collaboration

The City of Edmonton is a member of or collaborates with the following organizations:

Canadian Network of Asset Managers: the association of public infrastructure asset management in Canada. Our government and private sector members develop policies, tools and technologies that improve the service level for public infrastructure assets in every province and territory. The City is a founding member of the Canadian Network of Asset Managers.

Infrastructure Asset Management Alberta: represents the greater community of any person, organization or agency engaged in or interested in infrastructure asset management. The ‘community’ is supported by the Infrastructure Asset Management Alberta Working Group, which is a voluntary group of representatives from associations, local governments, agencies, private industry and/or First Nations brought together to recognize and integrate the administrative, technical, operational, financial, and planning aspects of asset management. The City is a founding member of Infrastructure Asset Management Alberta.

PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada is a Canadian not-for-profit association enabling excellence in maintenance, reliability, and asset management through collaboration, applied learning and leadership.

Infrastructure Canada: a Government of Canada department that
collaborates with all orders of government, Indigenous communities and other stakeholders to create world-class, modern public infrastructure.

National Research Council Canada: Canada's largest federal research and development organization.

Municipal Infrastructure Investment Planning: A primer on municipal infrastructure asset management.

Federation of Canadian Municipalities: has been the national voice of municipal government since 1901. Today, we advocate for municipalities to be sure their residents’ needs are reflected in federal policies and programs.

Infraguide: National guide to sustainable municipal infrastructure is a collection of technical best practices and principles to help better inform municipal staff and decision-makers in infrastructure management.

The Canadian Infrastructure Report Card: assesses the condition of Canada’s municipally-owned infrastructure to help decision-makers identify cracks in this important foundation and inform solutions to address them.

International Infrastructure Management Manual: Institute of Public Works Engineers Australasia – New Zealand is the industry association for professionals who deliver public works and engineering services to communities in New Zealand.
