The new streetscape design will improve pedestrian and active transportation, encourage walkability and support downtown vibrancy.

Project Update - June 2026

Construction on 99 Street Streetscaping began in spring 2026 and is scheduled for completion in October 2026. To minimize traffic and pedestrian impacts, construction has been phased.

Judy Padua Way Phasing

Estimated Completion: Mid-September 2026

Judy Padua Way from 100 Street to the north side of 99 Street: Completion scheduled for late June

Traffic impacts and closures:

  • The full closure of Judy Padua Way from 100 to 99 Street from June 22 to June 24 has been delayed due to weather to 6am on June 23 to June 25. Once completed, through traffic will resume.
  • No parking on Judy Padua Way from 100 Street to 99 Street. Through traffic is maintained.
  • Crosswalk closure at the northeast corner of 100 Street and Judy Padua Way

Judy Padua Way from 100 Street to the south side of 99 Street: Late June to early September

Traffic impacts and closures:

  • The construction is in progress at East lane of 100 Street south of Judy Padua Way. 
    • Two way traffic is being maintained.
  • 100 Street Library Parkade entrance has been opened  and exit has been delayed due to weather to June 26.
  • Through traffic maintained on Judy Padua Way (one lane, one-way, reduced width)
  • Westin driveway maintained at reduced width

  • Westin driveway maintained at a reduced width
  • Through traffic is maintained with reduced widths

99 Street Project Phasing

East side from south of Judy Padua Way to Jasper Avenue: Early May to late July

Traffic impacts and closures:

  • South side of Shoctor Alley closed
  • Southeast corner pedestrian crossing at 101A Avenue and 99 Street closed
  • Reduced lane widths
  • Two-way traffic maintained
  • Reduced access width at Sun Life and 9888 building parkades for a temporary period during Sidewalk work

West Side from south of Judy Padua Way to Jasper Avenue: Late July to mid-October

Traffic impacts and closures:

  • Southwest corner pedestrian crossing at 101A Avenue and 99 Street closed
  • Reduced lane widths
  • Two-way traffic maintained

Note: A full closure of 99 Street from south of Judy Padua Way to Jasper Avenue is anticipated in September 2026. Parking south of Westin Hotel and access to the building will be maintained during the closure. More details will be shared before the road is closed.
