Two bridges in central Edmonton were rehabilitated. Construction was completed ahead of schedule in August 2024. Thank you to all for your patience during construction.
Upgrades included:
Scona Road Bridge over Connors Road
- Replacement of the deteriorated concrete pavement on the bridge deck
- Replacement of asphalt pavement at both the north and south ends of the bridge
- Safety improvements to the approach guardrails at both ends of the bridge
- Additional structural repairs to extend the operating life of the bridge
98 Avenue Bridge eastbound over Connors Road
- Replacement of the deteriorated concrete pavement on the east portion of the bridge deck
- Installation of a guard rail extension for the 98 Avenue Bridge westbound
- Additional structural repairs to extend the operating life of the bridge
Project Area Overview

The need for this work was identified through the Bridge Renewal Program which proactively monitors the condition of bridges and suggests optimal levels of repair. Working on these bridges has extended their service life and reduced the risk of unplanned disruptions.
