Five times each year, ETS reviews rider feedback, schedules, service levels and routes to ensure we’re providing the right amount of service at the right time. Starting June 21, various bus routes will have some service changes, to reflect typical summer ridership patterns.

Route Schedule and Frequency Changes

Starting June 21, the following routes will experience schedule changes:

Routes 1-100: 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 31, 51, 52, 53, 56
Routes 101-199: 101, 102, 103, 104, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110X, 111, 112, 113 114, 116, 117, 118, 119, 120X, 121, 122, 124, 128, 130X, 131, 140X, 150X
Routes 500-599: 500X, 501, 506, 509, 512, 513, 514, 515, 516, 517, 518, 521, 522
Routes 600-699: All school specials will be suspended for until September
Routes 700-799: 700X, 701, 702, 703, 704, 705, 707, 708, 709, 713, 716, 717, 718, 719, 721, 722, 724, 727
Routes 900-999: 901, 902, 903, 904, 909, 910X, 912, 913, 914, 915, 916, 917, 918, 919, 920X, 921, 922, 930X

Updated route brochures will be available on June 21. Plan your trip early by selecting a date after June 21 on the trip planner or Google Maps.

Service Adjustments:

ETS will also be rerouting a number of routes throughout the city to help improve arrival times:

Route 31 will begin using the dedicated bus lane built as part of the Terwillegar Freeway Expansion project, providing exclusive transit priority between 53 Avenue and Leger Transit Centre. This route will add a stop at #4567 - Whitemud Drive southbound and 53 Avenue southbound.
Route 52 will be rerouted onto 156 Street and 111 Avenue from 149 Street and 107 Avenue.
Route 111 will no longer run through the Westmount Mall parking lot when travelling westbound and will instead head directly to Westmount Transit Centre.
Route 128 will be rerouted to loop around Northgate Mall to match Route 127.
Route 140X will be routed to 139 Street between 150 Avenue and 155 Avenue. The following stops will see Route 140X service removed:
- #6622 - 137 Street and 153 Avenue (eastbound)
- #6729 - 134 Street and 153 Avenue (westbound)
The following stops will see Route 140X service added:
- #6693 - 134 Street and 150 Avenue (westbound)
- #6633 - 137 Street and 150 Avenue (westbound)
- #6627 - 139 Street and 150 Avenue (northbound)
- #6856 - 139 Street and 153 Avenue (eastbound)
- #6111 - 137 Street and 153 Avenue (westbound)
- #6613 - 139 Street and 153 Avenue (southbound)
- #6761 - 139 Street and 150 Avenue (eastbound)
- #6750 - 137 Street and 150 Avenue (eastbound)
Route 521 will be rerouted onto Orchards Boulevard and Orchards Road. The following stops will be closed:
- #9342 - Orchards Boulevard and Orchards Drive SW (northbound)
- #9521 - Orchards Link and Orchards Boulevard SW (eastbound)
- #99049 - Chokecherry Common and Orchards Boulevard SW (eastbound)
- #99047 - Orchards Way and Orchards Boulevard SW (westbound)
- #99050 - Cherry Crescent and Orchards Boulevard SW (westbound)
- #9343 - Orchards Link and Orchards Boulevard SW (westbound)
Route 522 will be cancelled and replaced with On Demand Transit. Visit Alerts and Service Impacts for more information.
Route 701 will detour to Gateway Boulevard until Fall 2026, serving stops at 80 Avenue, 83 Avenue, and 85 Avenue. This change is part of the Summer Streets program. The following stops will be temporarily closed:
- #2866 - 104 Street and Saskatchewan Drive (eastbound)
- #2675 - 104 Street and 86 Avenue (northbound)
- #2796 - 104 Street and 84 Avenue (northbound)
- #2632 - 104 Street and 82 Avenue (northbound)
- #2839 - 104 Street and 79 Avenue (northbound)
- #22726 - 104 Street and 77 Avenue (northbound)

ETS will reassign numerous bus bays at transit centres throughout the city to help reduce congestion and increase safety:

Leger Transit Centre

Route 56 WEM will move to Bay O (#4815) from Bay M (#4813) on 23 Avenue westbound.

Century Park Transit Centre

Route 717 will move to Bay I (#4209) from Bay F (#4206).
Route 518 Millwoods will move to Bay I (#4209) from Bay F (#4206).
Route 712 Yellowbird will move to Bay B (#4202) from Bay H (#4208).
Route 715 Leger will move to Bay F (#4206) from Bay H (#4208).
Route 716 Leger will move to Bay H (#4208) from Bay G (#4207).

Westmount Transit Centre

Route 111 will be added to Bay D (#5206).

School Service

Most school special routes will be operating on Monday, June 22 and Tuesday, June 23.

On Demand Transit

Starting June 21, ETS will be replacing conventional transit with On Demand Transit in the following neighbourhoods:

Capilano and Gold Bar neighbourhoods. On Demand service will take riders to Capiliano Mall Transit Centre. The following stops are being converted to On Demand stops:
- 2522 - 65 Street and 106B Avenue (northbound)
- 2029 - 65 Street and 108 Avenue (northbound)
- 217 - 56 Street and 109 Avenue (eastbound)
- 2580 - 50 Street and 109 Avenue (eastbound)
- 2176 - 46 Street and 109 Avenue (southbound)
- 2446 - 46 Street and 107 Avenue (westbound)
- 2450 - 48 Street and 107 Avenue (southbound)
- 2399 - 50 Street and 106B Avenue (westbound)
- 2030 - 46 Street and 106 Avenue (eastbound)
- 2562 - 45 Street and 105A Avenue (southbound)
- 2140 - 45 Street and 104A Avenue (southbound)
- 2584 - 45 Street and 103 Avenue (Westbound)
Thorncliff will have a temporary On Demand Transit zone added for Valley Line West construction.

Holiday Service Changes

Transit service is reduced on holidays and in alignment with public, Catholic and post-secondary school calendars:

July 17-26 (K-Days)	There will be extra service on Routes 8, 53 and the Capital LRT line.
August 3 (Heritage Day)	Buses and LRT will run at Sunday service levels.

Construction and Detours

Current construction projects will continue into June causing some stop closures or route detours.

- The fourth full closure will occur from 7pm June 26 to 5am June 29

Valley Line West
- Route 676 and 914 will detour to 182 Street when 189 Street is closed north of 87 Avenue for approximately two months from mid-May to mid-July.
Wellington Bridge Closure
51 Avenue Track Crossing Replacement
- No Capital Line Service between South Campus Fort Edmonton Park and Century Park Stations from June 25 to 28. Bus replacement will be provided between South Campus Fort Edmonton Park, Southgate, and Century Park Stations.
- Detours for Routes 9, 9-Owl, 55 and 706 from 10pm on June 24 to start of service on Monday, June 29.

ETS will remove 21 closely spaced bus stops around the city to ensure more consistent spacing. The removed stops are:
